What is the amount of compensation paid during the last 10 years to persons seeking asylum in the United Kingdom, who were later able to show that they had been wrongfully deported, and how many cases were involved.

The sum of £120,000 has been paid to 24 Turkish nationals who were refused leave to enter the United Kingdom in 1989 and where there remained doubts about the procedures which were followed at their examination.
