To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the possible referral of the bid by Airtours for Owners Abroad to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.

[holding answer 5 February 1993]: The Director General of Fair Trading is currently investigating this proposed merger and he will advise the President of the Board of Trade in due course. A decision on whether or not it should be referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission will be taken once that advice is received.
