§ 30. Mr. Boyce
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many compulsory and voluntary redundancies have so far occurred in the armed forces as a result of "Options for Change".

§ Mr. Archie Hamilton
As at 31 December 1993, 5,969 service personnel have been selected for redundancy so far, as a result of our restructuring plans for the armed forces. Apart from 227 officers and 127 non-commissioned personnel, all of these redundancies are voluntary.
