HC Deb 09 February 1993 vol 218 cc532-3W
Mr. Ron Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what information he has concerning the number of workers in Wales holding more than one paid occupation; and if he will make a statement on how these are counted in his calculation of the number of employed people in Wales.

Mr. David Hunt

The summer 1992 labour force survey shows an estimated 45,000 people in Wales with a second job, either as an employee or self-employed.

The Employment Department's employer-based surveys count jobs, not people. The labour force surveys provide estimates of the numbers of people employed in Wales.
