§ Mr. Douglas HoggMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs has discussed the deportations with the new United States Secretary of State. We do not believe that sanctions would be helpful at this stage. They would not help our main objective which is to secure the resumption of the peace negotiations.
