To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will list the firms of consultants used by his Department as part of the market testing programme since November 1991 together with the total cost; and if he will make a statement.

The following consultants have been used at a total cost of £308,000.

  • Capita Management Consultancy
  • Coopers and Lybrand
  • SRU

These private sector consultancies have served to strengthen the Department's market testing capability.
