To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will publish the timetable for the purchase of Tay house in Charing Cross, Glasgow.

No decision has been made to purchase Tay house or any building in Glasgow or elsewhere to meet the requirement for the new Army personnel centre. A number of buildings which might meet this requirement remain under consideration and a final decision will be made only in the light of the outcome of the consultation period currently under way. Once that final decision is made, I expect that the purchase of the chosen building will be completed quickly.
