§ Mr. AltonTo ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to her answer of 25 January,Official Report, Column 540, if she will release to Mr. Robert Evans copies of the reports which she has received from the local agencies, and of the admission reports at Brighton general hospital, concerning the case of Mrs. Tracey Evans.
§ Mr. YeoMr. Evans has been sent a copy of the summary and conclusions of the report by the area child protection committee.
The hospital admission reports are confidential to both the patient and the national health service. It would therefore be inappropriate to release these documents. Indeed, the confidentiality of all local agency reports is governed by common law or by statutes, restricting their access to any individuals other than Mrs. Evans herself.
