To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will publish the specification for the post for each category of judicial appointment, outlining the selection criteria.

The criteria employed by the Lord Chancellor are set out in the latest edition of the booklet "Judicial Appointments: the Lord Chancellor's Policies and Procedures", which was published in November 1990. A copy is available in the Library of the House.
