HC Deb 08 February 1993 vol 218 c475W
Mr. Steen

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how her Department publicises the availability of free prescription certificates.

Dr. Mawhinney

The FP10 prescription form advises patients that free prescriptions and prescription prepayment certificates are available, and directs those who need more detailed information to obtain leaflet P11 "National Health Service—Prescriptions—How to get them free". This leaflet and leaflet AB11 "Help with NHS costs" are widely available from a variety of sources including Benefits Agency offices and family doctors. Information about help with NHS charges is published in a range of ethnic languages and posters advertising free prescriptions are supplied to family doctors, pharmacies and NHS hospitals. The leaflets and posters are also freely available to organisations such as citizens advice bureaux, welfare rights groups and charities which can obtain them from the health publications unit.
