HC Deb 08 February 1993 vol 218 c519W
Mr. Raynsford

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the progress made in Britain in the past eight months in implementing the agreements of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.

Mr. Maclean

The United Kingdom is working towards ratification of the climate change convention and to establish the basis for ratification of the convention on biological diversity by the end of 1993. We intend to publish national action plans on biodiversity, the climate change convention and for the implementation of the forest principles and submit a report on sustainable development to the new UN Commission on Sustainable Development on the same time scale.
