HC Deb 08 February 1993 vol 218 c423W
Mr. John Greenway

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department in what way and for what reason he intends that licensed bingo clubs should be regulated differently from the proposed national lottery.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

The arrangements for the regulation of licensed bingo clubs are set out in the Gaming Act 1968 and the Gaming (Bingo) Act 1985. The proposed regulatory framework for the national lottery is set out in the National Lottery Etc. Bill currently before the House. The differences between the two sets of controls reflect the different nature of the activities involved.
