§ Mr. NelsonThe design of Bank of England notes is the responsibility of the bank. The bank advises that it keeps the designs of its notes under constant review. In designing the new series of notes the bank consulted widely with representatives of the blind and partially-sighted. Differential sizes were retained for each denomination to help the blind, and a distinctive bold-coloured symbol was included on the front of each note specifically to help the partially sighted.
