HC Deb 05 February 1993 vol 218 c379W
Mr. Mike O'Brien

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to change the size, layout and printing on the £5, £10, and £20 bank notes to make it easier for visually impaired people to distinguish one value note from another.

Mr. Nelson

The design of Bank of England notes is the responsibility of the bank. The bank advises that it keeps the designs of its notes under constant review. In designing the new series of notes the bank consulted widely with representatives of the blind and partially-sighted. Differential sizes were retained for each denomination to help the blind, and a distinctive bold-coloured symbol was included on the front of each note specifically to help the partially sighted.

Mr. Mudie

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the practice in respect of treating a limited partnership and the general partner of the limited partnership as one entity for VAT purposes.
