§ Mr. CurryThe latest available figures show that 243 hectares of agricultural land are currently set aside under the five-year scheme in Lancashire. Payments to farmers, in respect of this land are estimated at £50,000 this financial year. Similar information for Pendle is not readily available. Information on land set aside under the new arable area payments scheme will not be available until growers have to declare the area later this year.
