To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on progress in eradicating distortions in the tax system.

Mr. Nelson

The Government's main objective in reforming taxes is to improve the performance of the economy and to see that people's choices are distorted as little as is reasonably possible by the tax system.
