To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will provide the latest estimate for the number of one-parent families in Great Britain.

§ Mr. Burt
The latest provisional estimate for 1991 of the number of one-parent families in Great Britain is 1.3 million. This is due to be published in March 1993 in "Population Trends No. 71."
