HL Deb 04 February 1993 vol 542 cc20-1WA
Lord Allen of Abbeydale

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether any compensation will be available for individuals who were unable to apply to the Independent Living Fund before its sudden closure on 25th November solely because delays by the Benefits Agency meant that they were unable to meet the condition of eligibility of being in receipt of the higher rate of disability living allowance.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Henley)

We have no plans to provide compensation.
