§ Mr. Ian TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what changes are being made in the 1992–93 cash limit and running costs limits for expenditure by Overseas Development Administration.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydSubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary supplementary estimate, the cash limit on the external assistance vote (class II, vote 5) will be reduced by £439,000 from £1,797,199,000 to £1,796,760,000. The reduction is necessary to allow for a transfer of £440,000 to the Diplimatic Wing's programme for assistance to eastern Europe (class II, vote 2). The gross running costs limit for the ODA has been reduced by £300,000 from £47,354,000 to £47,054,000. This allows for a transfer of resources to enable the net running cost control limit of the Natural Resources Institute to be increased by £200,000 from £1,100,000 to £1,300,000 for relocation costs. It also allows for a £100,000 increase in the capital expenditure subhead of the administration section to meet the cost of office works. The decrease in the cash limit on this vote will be offset by an increase of £440,000 on class II, vote 2.
