HC Deb 01 February 1993 vol 218 c28W
22. Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what changes he proposes making to the Welsh Language Bill to meet criticisms made of it.

Sir Wyn Roberts

The Government's Welsh Language Bill represents a significant advance for the Welsh language and for the people who speak it. The Government have already signified their intention to bring forward amendments to the Bill concerning the use of Welsh in the courts and in statutory titles. We will consider very carefully any other suggestions aimed at improving the Bill which are put to us during its detailed scrutiny by Parliament.
