§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence what contribution his Department plans to make to the IDEX 93 international defence exhibition to be held in Abu Dhabi in February.
§ Mr. AitkenThe Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO) has been working with the Department of Trade and Industry, the Defence Manufacturers Association and the exhibition organisers to co-ordinate and encourage participation by United Kingdom industry in IDEX '93. The DESO will be represented at the exhibition. In addition, a Royal Navy warship and a Lynx helicopter from the Armilla patrol will be visiting Abu Dhabi during the exhibition and, subject to their operational commitments, will participate in its naval element. I hope to visit IDEX 93 myself.
