HC Deb 01 February 1993 vol 218 cc17-8W
Mr. Meacher

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received from non-governmental organisations regarding the development of the United Kingdom's national plan on forests; and how he intends to involve non-governmental organisations in the process.

Sir Hector Monro

[holding answer 27 January 1993]: I have been asked to reply.

I have received one letter on this subject, from Friends of the Earth.

The Forestry Commission will be co-ordinating the preparation of the national plan for the implementation of the forest principles agreed in Rio de Janeiro, and will seek the views of non-governmental organisations before it is completed.
