§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the response received by his Department to the seminar "Renewable Energy—A Commercial Opportunity", sponsored by his Department in London on 3 December; and if he will set out to whom he has made available the two guides on financing renewable energies launched at the conference.
§ Mr. EggarMy Department has received a very positive response to the recent seminar on renewable energy. Copies of the guides on financing renewable energy projects were made available to lenders, investors and advisers attending the seminar. Further copies are being sent to financiers who have expressed an interest in renewable energy, but who were unable to attend. The availability of the guides is also being publicised through other events and publications organised by the energy technology support unit, acting for my Department. Both guides are available direct from the inquiries bureau at ETSU and copies have also been placed in the Library of the House.
