HC Deb 17 December 1993 vol 234 c1076W
Mr. Richards

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what funding he proposes to make available to the national health service in Wales in 1994–95 and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Redwood

Spending on the NHS in Wales will increase by £100 million from £1,975 million to £2,076 million, which represents a cash increase of over 5 per cent. —well ahead of retail inflation and pay increases£or an extra £35 for every man, woman and child in Wales. This will bring expenditure up to £716 next year for every person in Wales, or nearly £3,000 for an average family.
