To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many(a) female and (b) male victims of homicide there were in 1992; and if he will give a breakdown in each case in terms of their ethnic origin.

There were 240 female and 382 male victims of offences currently recorded as homicide in England and Wales in 1992 as at 27 August 1993.

A breakdown by ethnic origin is not available from the statistics collected centrally.
