HC Deb 17 December 1993 vol 234 c1003W
Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what guidance is given by her Department to employing bodies within the national health service on the enforcement of health and safety regulations;

(2) if she will make a statement on her Department's policy on the enforcement of health and safety regulations in the national health service.

Dr. Mawhinney

National health service management executive guidance EL(93)66 draws NHS employers attention to the importance of achieving a high standard of health and safety management at work. It refers to the serious consequences of failing to comply with health and safety legislation and gives particular emphasis to the new requirements of the regulations that came into effect in January this year. Copies of the guidance are available in the Library.
