Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the importing of 6,888 missiles and missile launchers from Germany as listed in the United Nations register of conventional arms.

For operational reasons it is not our practice to comment on the import of missiles and missile launchers.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the importing of one armoured combat vehicle from Canada as listed in the United Nations register of conventional arms.

Mr. Hanley

The armoured combat vehicle was imported for use as a museum exhibit.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the importing of 14 large-calibre artillery systems from France as listed in the United Nations register of conventional arms.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the importing of one battle tank from the Russian Federation as listed in the United Nations register of conventional arms.

Mr. Hanley

The tank was imported for defence research and development purposes.
