HC Deb 17 December 1993 vol 234 cc1058-9W
Mr. Bates

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what plans he has to introduce the appointed day requirements as set out under the Social Security Act 1990.

Mr. Hague

The appointed day requirements in the Social Security Act 1990 refer to the limited price indexation—LPI—of salary-related occupational pensions. The implementation of LPI is one of the many issues for the Government to consider in the light of the recommendations in the Pensions Law Review Committee report "Pension Law Reform" and the responses to our series of discussion papers on non-state pensions issued on 3 December.
