HL Deb 16 December 1993 vol 550 cc133-4WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What reduction in working hours, if any, has been made for junior doctors in London hospitals.

Baroness Cumberlege

In September 1990, the number of junior doctors and dentists contracted for more than an average of 83 hours a week in the four Thames regional health authorities, which cover London, was 4,078. By 30th September 1993, the number had fallen to 40.
