HL Deb 16 December 1993 vol 550 cc124-5WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have been consulted by the United States Government on the desirability of altering the existing ABM Treaty so as to allow the wider deployment of ABM missiles, and if so what opinion they have expressed.

Baroness Chalker of Wallasey

The United Kingdom is not a party to the ABM Treaty, and does not take part in the Treaty's Standing Consultative Commission. But this is an area in which we maintain close contact with our United States Allies.
