To ask the President of the Board of Trade what is the current status of the Price Marking (Bargain Offers) Order.

The Price Marking (Bargain Offers) Orders 1979 was revoked in 1989. Its provisions were replaced by the provisions of part III of the Consumer Protection Act 1987, which make it an offence to give a misleading price indication by any means, and the code of practice for traders on price indications issued under section 25 of that Act.
