To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she will list the countries in the EC which have not used up their full allocation of ewe premium quota and list the number of unused units in each case; and what steps she has taken, or is taking, to raise with the Commission the possibility of transferring the unused units of quota to the United Kingdom.

Quotas operate for the first time under the 1993 sheep annual premium scheme. Payment details are not yet available for that scheme. I regret it is not possible to provide the information requested. More than one year's figures will be needed before conclusions can be drawn as to the long-term quota position in member states.
