§ Mr. Stewart[holding answer 6 December 1993]: Since publication of the White Paper "Shaping the Future—The 607W New Councils", a total of 43 representations about the restructuring proposals for Ayrshire have been received. One has supported the White Paper proposal; 18 a single Ayrshire authority; 12 other options; and 12 have expressed concern over the proposal without stating a preference.
