HC Deb 14 December 1993 vol 234 c622W
Mr. Miller

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many claims for industrial injuries disablement benefit as a result of vibration white finger have been rejected in each of the last five years because the process by which the claimant contracted the condition is not covered by the prescribed list of occupation diseases.

Mr. Scott

The information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Miller

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when he expects the report of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council currently studying hand-arm vibration syndrome.

Mr. Scott

I understand that the council has not yet completed its study and does not expect to do so for some time.
