To ask the Secretary of State for Education (1) if he will list by local education authority area(a) the number of Office for Standards in Education formal inspections and (b) the number of unannounced visits carried out so far.

(2) if he will list by local education authority area the number of formal inspections planned till the end of 1994.

The arrangements for inspecting schools under the Education (Schools) Act 1992 are a matter for Ofsted.
