§ Mr. AitkenCertain information about the contracts placed under the Jordan defence package has been made public during oral evidence given to Lord Justice Scott's524W connection with the professional conduct or professional competence of hospital medical and dental staff. This includes advice concerning the suspension of a practitioner from duty temporarily. The guidance recommends that the suspension should be confirmed or terminated by the chairman of the employing authority within 14 days. If it is decided that there is a prima facie case of a serious disciplinary nature, an investigating panel should report on the matter to the employing authority within 32 weeks.
No specific guidance has been issued as regards other staff groups.
