HC Deb 13 December 1993 vol 234 c526W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his answer of 7 December,Official Report, column 176, what information he has provided to the management of GEC regarding his future procurement plans; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Aitken

Officials of my Department have a standing instruction that, within the constraints of security and commercial confidences, they should be as forthcoming as possible with defence companies about future procurement plans. The management of GEC, as of any other defence contractor, will therefore have been kept informed of these plans through the many contacts between the Department and the company.
