§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence what steps he has taken to initiate legal action against Airwork in relation to the damage incurred in the cost of the modification contract in the F3 Tornados at RAF St. Athan.
§ Mr. AitkenA sample of the damaged aircraft is being surveyed to establish the precise extent of the damage and its structural implications. This work is expected to take at least until March 1994. Thereafter the aircraft design authority will be in a position to make recommendations on repair schemes. When these have been costed we will be able to assess the amount of the Department's claim against Airwork Limited. The claim will be presented within the period allowed in law.
