To ask the Attorney-General how many cases the Crown Prosecution Service has not brought to court in each of the last seven years for which figures are available.

The number of defendants whose case did not proceed in each of the last seven years was:

These figures include cases where proceedings were dropped by the CPS, cases where the prosecution was unable to proceed because the defendant had died CT could not be traced, and cases adjourned sine die.
