To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what consideration he has given to the funding of the BBC; and when he plans to publish his proposals concerning the renewal of the BBC charter.

I hope to publish a White Paper early next year setting out the Government's proposals for the future of the BBC, including its funding.
