§ .Mr. HeseltineThe Department of Trade and Industry's expenditure on research and development is recorded in the annual review of Government-funded research and development, copies of which are placed in the Library of the House. The first such review, published in 1983, shows expenditure from 1977–78 onwards. The 1993 review shows planned expenditure up to 1995–96. Revised figures, including plans for 1996–97, will be prepared in light of this year's public expenditure survey and published in the 1994 "Forward Look of Science and Technology", which replaces the annual review.
