HC Deb 09 December 1993 vol 234 c321W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what percentage of women currently receive the results of a smear test within one month; and what is(a) the average and (b) the longest time for receiving the results for those cases outside of one month.

Mr. Sackville

Information is not available centrally in the form requested. Health authorities must aim to return the results of cervical smear tests to the doctor who undertook them within one month. The most recent review indicates that, in most cases, health authorities are meeting the one-month target time for cervical smear reporting.
