HC Deb 08 December 1993 vol 234 cc249-50W
Mr. Pickthall

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps her Department is taking to assess the effectiveness of rare breeds in conservation grazing schemes, with particular reference to the Hebridean sheep; and if she will study the means by which set-aside arrangements can be adjusted to help conserve rare breeds and control pernicious weeds.

The SERC has assisted in some preliminary studies for a spaceborne profiling radar, as a contribution to the global energy and water experiment of the world climate research programme. It is not possible to disaggregate the cost of this work from other SERC operations.
