§ Dr. MawhinneyInformation for 1990–91 is not available. A total of 310 practices expressed an interest in becoming fundholders in 1991–92 with 253 joining the scheme the following April. Six hundred and sixty-eight practices expressed an interest in 1992–93 with 580 joining the following April. Practices are reimbursed for the additional expenditure involved in preparing to manage a fund.
