§ Mr. SpellarTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what advice his Department has given to local authorities regarding computer systems for operating the council tax.
§ Mr. BaldryTo assist authorities in specifying the requirements of their computer systems to their suppliers, the Department has funded the production of a council tax requirement specification which was distributed to authorities in March 1992. The Department has also produced detailed guidance on the operation of the tax in the form of nine practice notes and a continuing series of implementation letters.
