* The mandates marked with an asterisk were extended by the Commission on Human Rights at its forty-eighth session in 1992. Statements of financial implications for these mandates had been presented by the Centre for Human Rights at that session but were not retained by the financial services of the United Nations who informed the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ) that provision for these activities had been included in the programme budget for 1992/1993. However, this amount, a lump-sum of US$ 2,087,000 for all so-called ECOSOC mandates, proved to be largely insufficient. |
