HC Deb 07 December 1993 vol 234 c201W
Mr. Bradley

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) how many homeless people, who are living in hostels on a temporary basis, have applied for but have been refused a social fund community care grant or loan; and if he will make a statement;

(2) how many refugees have, following an offer of permanent accommodation, applied for but been refused social fund start-up grants; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Scott

I understand from Michael Bichard, Chief Executive of the Benefits Agency, that the information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
