HC Deb 07 December 1993 vol 234 cc188-9W
25. Mr. Byers

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many patients are currently waiting for hospital treatment.

Dr. Mawhinney

Provisional figures for the quarter ending 30 September are available in the Library. These show that regions are meeting the patients charter guarantee that all patients will be seen within a maximum of two years. In addition, no patient has to wait longer than 18 months for hip or knee replacements or cataract surgery.
