§ Mr. RedwoodThere are no official figures for business closures. The number of companies going into liquidation due to insolvency in England and Wales was 9,427 in 1988, and 24,425 in 1992. The number of personal insolvencies, which could be classified to a trade or profession, was 5,601 in 1988 and 19,525 in 1992.
