HL Deb 07 December 1993 vol 550 c65WA
Lord Tebbit

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are aware of any incidents of aircrew incapacitation on public transport flights attributable to HIV/AIDS infection.

The Earl of Caithness

The Civil Aviation Authority's medical division advise that there has not been any instance where flight crew have been incapacitated as a consequence of HIV/AIDS infection. According to their records, in the last 10 years, there have only been three recorded cases of HIV infection among members of UK public transport flight crew. Responsibility for the health of cabin crews rests with the airlines.
