HC Deb 06 December 1993 vol 234 c54W
Dr. Wright

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will show, for each of the executive non-departmental bodies sponsored by his Department, whether the public has a statutory right to attend all board or committee meetings and to inspect(a) the minutes of meetings, (b) the annual reports and (c) the annual accounts.

Mr. Hanley

The information requested in respect of MOD executive non-departmental public bodies—NDPB's—is as follows(a) and (b) the public does not have a statutory right to attend board meetings or committee meetings or to inspect the minutes of meetings of any of MOD's executive NDPBs. (c) there is a statutory right for the public to inspect the annual accounts for all the service museums and for the annual report and accounts in respect of the Services Sound and Vision Corporation.

These documents are held by the Charities Commission and at Companies House respectively. In the case of the Oil and Pipelines Agency, the agency's annual report and accounts are laid before each House of Parliament.
